Our goal is to help you to realise your full potential, whether you’re trying yoga for the first time or you’ve been practising yoga for years.

If increasing the quality of your life appeals to you then Hot Yoga Fusion is the place to be. We have an absolute passion for what we do and a genuine joy in seeing the development of students that come to us.
Hot Yoga Fusion brings to Wanaka a community of yoga for all walks of life. We offer a variety of classes to suit complete beginners to the more advanced practitioner, at regular times, all in the one central location. We incorporate fun, experience, knowledge, alignment, challenge and compassion into our teaching.

Our Yoga

There is something for everyone.We believe in yoga that is hot.

Hot Yoga has all kinds of benefits. The one that's touted most often is detoxification: heavy sweating is said to help flush toxins from the skin. The heat also allows you to go a little more deeply and safely into the postures, so you know you're really warming up the muscles and you can really approach the postures from a safe place. Working in a heated room also elevates the heart rate, which makes the body work harder. It's really for people who want a more intense workout, those who want to develop strength, flexibility and tone along with a cardiovascular workout. Working in heat helps the body relax, improves breathing (which helps conditions like asthma) and focuses the mind, which develops better mental concentration.

Hot Yoga

Bikram Yoga - Also known as the 'Core 26 + 2' Bikram Yoga classes run for 90 minutes and consist of the same series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Bikram Yoga is practiced in a room heated to around 38 - 40°C, ideally with a humidity of 40%. Be prepared to sweat the whole class! Preparation for this class is most important, coming well hydrated is key. Bring a water bottle & a bath towel.

Power/Vinyasa Yoga

Power Yoga/ Vinyasa - For those people who want cardio fitness within their yoga class. This class is based on movement through breath. The flowing style suits all levels (including beginners) starting with grounding & sun salutations warm up, before moving to the standing & floor series. The class will work you hard. Expect to sweat, bring a big towel & come hydrated.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga - is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures that are held for comparatively long periods of time; five minutes or longer per pose is typical. Often completed with a Yoga Nidra, guided relaxation. This class is fabulous for sports people as the focus is more on release through the connective tissue & joints & has a lovely meditative aspect. Most people are inclined to leave feeling super relaxed & even a little bit taller.

What to Bring.

New to yoga? It's always good to know what you're in for. If yoga is new, or you're not sure what to expect then follow these hints on what to wear, what to bring with you and some preparations to take before heading to a class.

  • What to wear?

    Yoga involves movement so wear something lightweight and easy to move around in. You will likely be working up a sweat so it maybe a good idea to bring a change of clothes

  • What to bring?

    Bring a towel, a yoga mat and some water. We sell all three.

  • What to do beforehand?

    Ideally avoid eating 2hrs before class. This will allow your body to function more optimally during class. Low blood pressure or energy lacking? You may need a little something before hand.


All styles of yoga will improve strength, flexibility, and balance. All styles of yoga release tension in your body, quiet your mind and create a feeling of lightness and ease. But to get the most benefit you need to choose a yoga style that suits your current fitness level.

Nicci Huston

Studio Owner / Teacher

In 2006 Nicci decided to study Therapeutic Massage at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies in Auckland. She chose this diploma to gain a better understanding of how the body functions in order to incorporate this into her yoga practice. During the two years Nicci spent in Auckland she also discovered NLP and proceeded to gain her Practitioner, Master Practitioner & Transforming Communications Instructors certifications. Immediately after graduating from Wellpark's 18 month diploma she travelled to Hawaii for her Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. Nicci then came back to NZ and worked with Nikki Harris at Eastwest Yoga (then, Bikram Yoga Newmarket) before moving to Wellington for a year to work with Anika Speedy at Bikram Yoga Wellington. Then came the big move South, closer to where her heart was. Nicci (with her family) moved to Queenstown, where she spent 3.5 years teaching Bikram, Ashtanga, Yin & Hatha yoga at Studio Sangha & Bikram Yoga Queenstown with Peggy Preston. It was during this time in Queenstown that Nicci's teaching & practice really started blooming. After her years of experience with teachers in NZ & overseas, being in one place for a longer period of time, gave her the opportunity to work on both of these disciplines much more. With many years of practice and dedication under her belt Nicci offers experience in her classes to suit all levels by incorporating, alignment, strength, depth in flexibility, NLP and a meditative aspect to her classes.
